Job Brief:
Position: Senior Pastry Cook
Employer: MakMak Macarons Pty Ltd
Location: Darlinghurst, NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time (38 hours per week)
Salary: AUD $79,423 - 80,000 per annum (excluding superannuation)

The Senior Pastry Cook is responsible for producing MakMak's premium handcrafted macarons, cookies and specialty confectionery. The role requires advanced pastry skills to consistently produce high-quality artisan products for corporate, wholesale, online and education customers while maintaining food safety and quality standards. The Senior Pastry Cook reports directly to the Director of MakMak Macarons Pty Ltd and works closely with other production staff to ensure customer orders are completed to the required quality and timeframe.


Responsibilities:
• Prepare, mix and bake macaron shells, fillings, ganaches and confectionery products.
• Pipe, assemble, decorate and finish premium handcrafted products.
• Produce bespoke products including edible logo printing and colour matching for corporate clients.
• Develop and test new recipes, flavours and seasonal products.
• Plan daily production schedules and prioritise customer orders.
• Monitor ingredient quality and maintain consistency across production.
• Order ingredients and packaging materials and monitor stock levels.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections throughout production.
• Train and mentor junior production staff.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Assist with documenting recipes and production procedures.
• Support pastry and macaron classes when required.

Skills Required:

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience as a Pastry Cook.

• At least 1-2 years experience working independently 

• Relevant qualifications with Pastry 
• Strong artisan pastry and confectionery skills.
• Experience in recipe development and product innovation.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality control.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a small production team.
