We are seeking a legal professional in the areas of family, estate and property law to assist the solicitors with their every day work.
Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include the following:
- Researching statutes and court case decisions for the solicitors
- Preparing settlement documents and obtaining signatures from relevant parties
- Drafting of legal documents including estate planning documents and affidavits relating to various litigation matters;
- Coordinating litigation with the barristers in a proceeding;
- Conducting legal research to support the director on a day-to-day basis across a range of legal issues and preparing legal opinions based on the research;
- Liaise with clients generally, providing advice where necessary and take instructions in the areas of Family Law, Wills & Estates and Conveyancing;
- General administrative duties regarding file management; and
- Network and promote the firm at networking and work events.
Skills Required:
To apply for the role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:
- Law Degree or equivalent to practice law in NSW, Australia;
- At least 2 years of work experience in the areas of family, estate, and property law
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team;
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in dealing with family law matters, drafting wills & administration of estates and conveyancing (PEXA);
- At least 2 years of experience with Leap Legal software;
- Intermediate skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
