We are looking for Family & Estate and Property Law Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Wills & Estates: Draft and execute Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Enduring Guardianships; manage probate and estate administration; handle financial management orders and NCAT hearings; assist with contested wills and family provision claims.
- Draft application for Probate and Letters of Administration Applications to be filed in the Supreme Court.
- Family Law: Prepare and finalize divorce applications, binding financial agreements, and financial property settlement matters; handle parenting applications and mediation.
- Property Law: Oversee property settlement processes; draft contracts; manage conveyancing documentation; liaise with real estate agents and banks.
- Staff Training & Invoicing: Train paralegals, review legal documents, draft cost agreements, manage invoicing and client queries, and handle trust accounting.
- Conveyancing - Drafting Contract for Sale & Purchase Agreements.
- Attend to Search relevant certificates in relation to sale/purchase of property.
- Liaise with real estate agents and banks.
- Preparation of settlement balance sheet on Pexa.
- Legal research to assist prosecutors.
- Draft summons, evidence matrix, agreed facts and witness statements.
- Compile and file court documents at the criminal and civil registry.
- Observe court proceedings and making file notes for state counsels.
- Assist with trial preparation by preparing the exhibit list, the list of witnesses.
- Prepare exhibit folders for court and compiling disclosure documents.
- Printing, Scanning, Photocopying and Faxing documents.
Skills Required:
Education and Qualifications:
- Law Degree preferred in common law - completed overseas or australia
- At least 2 years of work experience in the areas of family, estate, and property law or in legal practice
- Experience with legal software
Strong communication skills: Both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients, lawyers, and other stakeholders.
Legal research skills: Ability to research legal precedents, legislation, and case law.
Attention to detail: Especially in drafting legal documents and contracts.
Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
Client service skills: Ability to interact empathetically and professionally with clients, especially in sensitive family or estate matters.
Proficiency in legal software: Familiarity with case management systems and office tools.
