Job Brief:
Position: Event Coordinator 
Location: Coogee, NSW, CINC, CBH, Cruise Bar, close to public transport
Job type: Full Time, 38 hours/week
Salary range: AUD 76,515 to 80,000

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Coordinator to join our team at Coogee Bay Hotel. As an Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events at our hotel. From weddings and corporate conferences to social gatherings and parties, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of each event.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to determine event requirements and objectives
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of events, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual setup, and decor 
  • Manage event budgets and negotiate contracts with vendors 
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of events
  • Oversee event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination
  • Provide exceptional customer service and act as the main point of contact for clients
  • Handle any issues or emergencies that may arise during events 
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and make recommendations for future improvements
  • The Event Coordinator is the face of the Events team, responsible for events systems maintenance 
  • Delivering the sales strategy
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and existing clients
  • Financial reporting 
  • Ensuring exceptional guest service delivery 
  • Providing operational & reporting efficiency 
  • Managing the sales mailbox 
  • Deliver sales strategies designed to exceed budgeted revenues, events and other incremental revenues throughout the venue. 
  • Adhere to cost expenditure guidelines within the department. 
  • Review and report on guest feedback to increase guest services 
  • Provide statistical weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner 


Skills Required:

  • Previous experience in event planning or coordination
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry and event trends 
  • Diploma or studies that is industry-related is ideal
