Job Brief:

·         Nature of Employment: Permanent full time position

·         Salary Range: AUD 80,000 to 90,000 per year + superannuation

We are looking for a Cabinetmaker to join our team to help us to continue delivering high quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities:

The tasks and duties performed by the cabinetmaker include:

·         Reviewing blueprints, job orders, and sample components to identify requirements.

·         Choosing and utilizing materials like timber, veneers, particle board, and engineered wood.

·         Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood.

·         Creating furniture based on designs and detailed instructions.

·         Crafting fixtures for boats, caravans, and other objects requiring precision.

·         Constructing parts to build sections of furniture and final products.

·         Installing hinges, locks, latches, drawers, and shelves.

·         Building frames for chairs and sofas.

·         Potentially repairing and restoring furniture and antiques.

Skills Required:

Successful applicants must have:

·         Education and Training: Completion of a relevant apprenticeship or trade school program.

·         Experience: Proven experience in cabinetmaking or carpentry.

·         Skills:

·         Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.

·         Expertise in using woodworking tools and machinery.

·         Ability to measure, cut, and assemble wood with precision.

·         Physical Stamina: Capability to handle physically demanding tasks.

·         Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in work.

·         Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues during the construction process.

·         Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety standards and practices in woodworking.
