We are looking for an Accountant.

Responsibilities:

The tasks and duties performed by the Accountant include:

·         Helping to develop and implement budget and accounting policies.

·         Creating financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and regulatory agencies.

·         Conducting financial investigations, generating reports, performing audits, and advising on business acquisitions, mergers, capital financing, fraud detection, insolvency, and tax issues.

·         Reviewing operating expenses and the organization’s income and spending.

·         Ensuring the accuracy of financial reports and their adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

·         Offering financial and tax advice on business structures, strategies, and operations.

·         Preparing tax returns for both individuals and businesses.

·         Coordinating with financial institutions and brokers to manage funds.

·         Setting up and managing accounting systems, and providing guidance on selecting and using accounting software.

·         Overseeing internal control systems.

·         Assessing cash flow and financial risks associated with capital investment projects.

Skills Required:

Successful applicants must have:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Membership in a recognized professional accounting body, such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Relevant work experience in accounting or a similar financial role.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing is highly valued.
  • Familiarity with Australian accounting standards and regulations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and produce comprehensive reports.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in French - reading, written, spoken - in a business setting
