Position Summary
The Technical Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting website hosting environments on cPanel and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The role includes server maintenance, application and package installations/uninstallations, OS-level user support, developing SOPs for website management, and handling all technical activities required for robust hosting operations.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide technical support for website hosting, server maintenance, and web application backups on cPanel and AWS platforms.
· Install and uninstall applications and software packages as required for hosting environments and client needs.
· Offer OS-level support for users, including troubleshooting, user account management, and permissions.
· Configure and manage domain hosting, DNS records, and email accounts for clients.
· Develop, document, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for website management and related technical activities.
· Perform regular server and website/application backups, ensuring data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
· Monitor server health, apply security updates, and optimize hosting environments for reliability and performance.
· Assist clients with account setup, domain registration, and DNS management.
· Document support activities, escalate unresolved issues, and collaborate with other technical teams as needed.
· Educate clients on best practices for web hosting, security, and application performance.
· Stay updated on the latest hosting technologies, security protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Diploma graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (minimum qualification).
· 1–2 years of hands-on experience in website hosting technical support or a similar role.
· Strong knowledge of Linux commands and server environments.
· Experience with cPanel and AWS (EC2, S3, Route 53, IAM, etc.) hosting management.
· Proficiency in DNS configuration, troubleshooting, and email setup.
· Experience with application and package installations/uninstallations on Linux servers.
· Ability to develop and maintain SOPs for technical and operational processes.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
· Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
· Familiarity with backup strategies and disaster recovery processes.
· Positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with cPanel.
· Knowledge of web server software (Apache, NGINX) and scripting languages (PHP, Python, Perl).
· Understanding of web security best practices and SSL certificate management.
· Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems is a plus.
