Job Brief:
Licensed Inspectors and Inspector Trainees, for lead, asbestos, and mold. We are based in Washington D.C. We service D.C. Virginia and Maryland. The work is often split between inspections done in the field, both in residential and commercial properties, and work done at home writing reports and following up with clients.
No prior experience is required, although experience and or license in the disciplines in related fields (environmental hazard remediation, building inspection, and/or construction, sale, and marketing) are of value. All required tools and paid training for licensing will be provided.
Responsibilities:
The candidate shall perform these tasks while in training/once promoted to an inspector while in the field:
- Collecting surface, air, soil, and water samples, recording them and transporting and interpreting results.
- Drawing site maps while on location (rough floorplans with details as to where samples were taken)
- Preparing field data sheets that describe samples taken
- Using investigative technology to analyze the state of various building materials (use of moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and XRF analyzers)
- Taking photo documentation of job sites
While working not on location the candidate shall:
- Receive and interpret lab results from field samples
- Fill out report templates with data and photographs taken from the field
- Attend pieces training to receive certifications for lead, mold, asbestos, and other environmental health hazards
- Perform other duties associated with furthering their knowledge in the field of environmental health or improving the company
Skills Required:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs., be able to stand for long periods, be able to climb a step ladder, have the mobility to collect floor samples repeatedly, and generally be in good health
- Must have own reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent- minimum
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
-Must be familiar and comfortable with using computer applications, adobe, and Microsoft word.
-Must not have Felony Convictions within the past 7 years. The state(s) and the District of Columbia will not issue the applicants a license.
